Plastic waste in the oceans has become a widespread yet normalized problem,
with everyday objects such as plastic can rings posing serious risks marine
ecosystems and wildlife

The project reflects on the symbolic gesture of cutting plastic rings – a small but
meaningful act of awareness – exploring how design can encourage reflection on
consumption, responsability and the consequence of daily habits

Plastic can rings are reinterpreted as the main visual and structural
element, transforming a disposable material into a wereable object that
communicates its origin and message

SEE&: a pair of glasses designed not as a solution to pollution, but as a statement
piece that raises awareness, connecting personal actions with broader environmental
impact and promoting more conscious choices

Cutting rings is an easy and simple gesture that reflects a conscious and responsible mindset. But it shouldn’t stop there: it’s just the beginning of a greater commitment to recycling and caring fotr the environment

I started by trying out different frames because I wanted something that would catch the eye and convey the message powerfully. I played with the idea of cutting the rings and turning the glasses into a statement piece that would reflect the importance of the movement.
As for the temples, I explored how they could symbolically «enclose» the wearer, in the same way that the rings trap animals. From that reflection, the final design was born: a hybrid between the shape of the temples and the gesture of cutting the rings, uniting concept and form in a single piece.
